In origine, i cantanti erano chiamati sheikh e sheikhat.
I testi erano inizialmente in dialetto beduino e trattavano temi religiosi e sociali.

One of the most famous folk poems sung in the history of Algerian rai music.
This poem is one of the first folk poems written specifically for the song. Its lyrics go back to the famous poet, Slimane Djouadi, and were written by Cheb Khaled in 1984.
🔴: This poem was written at that time to elevate the taste of Algerian rai music after it had become popular.
In those years, in the early 1980s, rai music was banned in Algerian media and national television due to its provocative lyrics. However, during that period, many folk poems were sung, including "Saida Baida," "Yamina," and "Al-Marsam," which was performed by the artist Cheb Mami in 1982 on the program "Alhan wa Shabab." All of these poems were written by great folk poets of the nineteenth century, such as Mustafa Ben Ibrahim, Mohamed Zeroual, Abdelkader El Khaldi, and others.
🔴#Rai_Art: It is an Algerian musical and vocal movement that began in western Algeria 🇩🇿, in the cities of the states of Oran, Sidi Ben Abbes, Ain Temouchent, and Relizane. The history of this musical style is ancient. Some researchers have dated its origin to the time of the Spanish intervention in Algeria in the 18th century, and its place of origin was in the cities of western Algeria, such as Oran, Sidi Bel Abbes, Ain Temouchent, and Relizane. Between the present and the past, Rai art witnessed a renewal in its musical style. In its early days, those who sang it were known as sheikhs and sheikhat. Then, in the mid-seventies, another title appeared, namely the young man and the young woman, as a reference to the great renewal that appeared in this musical style, whose origins go back to the sheikhs of "Malhoun" (#Malhoun_Popular_Poetry) in western Algeria. I mention, as an example, but not limited to, its pioneers Sheikh Hamada and Abdelkader El Khaldi. Wahrani in particular and western Algeria in general are the sources of Rai. Home. Initially, rai lyrics were the language of Bedouin songs from the colloquial dialect ("popular poetry"), similar to Bedouin Arabic. Most of its themes centered on religious praise and social issues. During the French colonial period, it focused on narrating the tragedies of the population, from the difficulty of living to social ills, through which it sought to raise awareness among listeners. Songs based on popular poetry were written by poets such as Abdelkader El Khaldi and others.
In 1984, after rai gained popularity due to the cassette market and the widespread sale of tapes by young artists performing this art after the sheikhs, such as Cheb Khaled, Cheb Sahraoui, Cheb El Hindi, and Cheb El Mamy on the program "Alhan wa Shabab" (Melodies and Youth), as well as the female element of rai, Cheba Fadhila and Cheba Halima Zahouania, this poem was written. Its lyrics are considered appropriate for Cheb Khaled, as he was the first young rai artist to start among the sheikhs. It is one of the most famous poems sung in contemporary rai.
Its music was composed by the great composer: Kouider Berkane, and its musical arrangement was completed.
Khaled distributed it in an album called "Ghadara" after the first announcement. 🔴 #National_Rai_Festival held in Oran, in which Cheb Khaled participated.
🔴 #Song_Fame: Thanks to its deep and clean lyrics, this song became a trend and one of the most famous songs sung in the 1980s. It was covered by many artists, such as Cheb Mami, Cheb Hasni, and others.
After Khaled immigrated to France in 1986 and rai became popular, this song was re-arranged in the album "Nsi Nsi", which was released in August 1993 by Universal Records. It was sung and its musical arrangement was re-arranged with the inclusion of Arabic musical instruments, such as the violin. In addition to Cheb Khaled's technical vocal technique, which he performed as a duet with two voices, when you hear it, you can tell it's performed by two artists, while it's actually performed by just one artist.
This song became very popular duet duets, both because of its unique, rich lyrics and musical arrangement, far from its peers, and it was sung on all stages. The world 🌍 at concerts such as the Three Suns Field 1, 2, 3 and was broadcast in classes, international radio stations, and European TV programs and is still heard and repeated a lot by current generation artists.

Even you, your wings were long
And you knew right from wrong
Even you, your wings were long
And you knew right from wrong
Voilee, may your parents have mercy on you
Who wanted you in the reckoning?
Voilee, may your parents have mercy on you
Who wanted you in the reckoning?
My life, love is difficult for you.
Ask me, I'm a prisoner.
Afraid they'll play with you.
And taste my suffering.
Voilee, may your parents have mercy on you
Who wanted you in the reckoning?
Voilee, may your parents have mercy on you
Who wanted you in the reckoning?
Wait a little longer, may God guide you.
It will come to you written down in the book.
Yes, you
