Dimitrios Kannavos 1

Mr. Michaels, lei lavora sia davanti che dietro la macchina da presa. Come descriverebbe il suo percorso da attore a produttore e regista?

Mr. Michaels – Sì, ho lavorato per molti anni come attore, produttore e regista. Come attore davanti alla macchina da presa, hai una grande responsabilità nel rappresentare la storia del personaggio che interpreti nella sua realtà. Come regista sei responsabile dell’intera produzione, del risultato, della percezione e della direzione che il progetto prenderà.

Cosa l’ha ispirata a creare la Dream Cinema Productions LLC e qual è la visione principale della sua compagnia?

Mr. Michaels – Ciò che mi ha ispirato a creare la Dream Cinema Productions Film Corporation è il fatto che un attore non ha il pieno controllo né può guidare la direzione in cui va la produzione. Ma come produttore, regista e proprietario di Dream Cinema Productions, posso dettare la storia e il messaggio che voglio trasmettere al pubblico. L’arte e la comunicazione sono una parte intrinseca dell’umanità. È ciò che le nostre anime condividono tra loro su questo piano terrestre, quindi per me è molto importante creare e condividere arte con gli altri.

Il cinema indipendente può essere impegnativo. Quali sono stati gli ostacoli più grandi che ha affrontato e come li ha superati?

Mr. Michaels – Alcuni dei maggiori ostacoli nel fare cinema come compagnia indipendente sono trovare i finanziamenti per produrre i progetti, mantenere il controllo sulla distribuzione e assicurarsi che i ricavi tornino per rimborsare gli investitori e allocare i fondi dove devono essere destinati. Perché a volte ci sono persone là fuori che cercano di prendere senza contribuire, e bisogna sempre esserne consapevoli.

Come professionista creativo, dove trova solitamente l’ispirazione per le sue storie e i suoi personaggi?

Mr. Michaels – Trovo ispirazione nelle situazioni della vita reale, nelle esperienze personali e nelle idee ed esperienze degli altri. E a volte dalle menti creative di persone molto talentuose.

Ha partecipato a eventi e gala internazionali. Quanto sono importanti il networking e la collaborazione globale nell’industria cinematografica di oggi?

Mr. Michaels – Sì, ho partecipato a molti gala, premi ed eventi nazionali e internazionali. Anche a red carpet in tutto il mondo. È molto importante fare networking, comunicare, condividere e diffondere la propria arte e i propri progetti al maggior numero possibile di persone sulla Terra. Non puoi costruire un’isola con una sola pietra: servono molte pietre e la creatività di tutte quelle pietre.

Quali qualità cerca quando sceglie attori e collaboratori per i suoi progetti?

Mr. Michaels – Nel scegliere attori, troupe e persone creative con cui collaborare, guardiamo sempre alla personalità e al comportamento dell’individuo. Per lavorare insieme in questi progetti creativi, che richiedono molti soldi, molto tempo e molto impegno, devi lavorare con persone equilibrate, con un buon cuore e facili da gestire.

Come bilancia l’espressione artistica con il lato commerciale del cinema?

Mr. Michaels – A volte la creatività e il business entrano in qualche tipo di conflitto, ma arriviamo sempre a un compromesso e a una forma di comprensione.

Che consiglio darebbe ai giovani registi e attori che cercano di entrare nell’industria senza forti connessioni?

Mr. Michaels – Il mio consiglio è di uscire e seguire workshop, fare teatro, fare audizioni per cose come televisione e film, e partecipare a eventi per incontrare persone. E mai, mai lasciare che qualcuno vi impedisca di portare avanti la vostra creatività, perché state vivendo la vostra vita e avete qualcosa da condividere in questo mondo come spirito umano. Non spetta a nessun altro fermarvi da nulla.

Ci sono progetti futuri che può condividere con noi e che il pubblico dovrebbe aspettare con entusiasmo?

Mr. Michaels – Al momento abbiamo un film chiamato Night Mistress, disponibile su Amazon Prime, Hulu e Fawesome. È un’avventura d’azione su una ragazza vigilante che elimina i cattivi e diventa una supereroina attraverso i fumetti. Abbiamo anche film su Netflix, Hulu e altre piattaforme, come Mansion of Blood con Gary Busey, Everyday Miracles con Gary Cole, Unknowns con grandi star spagnole. Stiamo lavorando anche a una serie web che uscirà su Instagram e YouTube e poi passerà a HBO Max, chiamata LA Mob Story. È in fase di creazione e riprese proprio ora: racconta la storia di mafiosi degli anni ’40 di New York che però vivono nella Los Angeles del 2026. È una commedia seriale. Tenete gli occhi aperti.

Infine, che messaggio vorrebbe inviare al pubblico greco e internazionale che segue l’Hellenic Los Angeles Network?

Mr. Michaels – Andate a vedere tutti i film prodotti da Dream Cinema Productions che abbiamo menzionato e tenete d’occhio le nuove produzioni. Potremmo venire nella vostra città a girare qualcosa, e potreste avere la possibilità di far parte della nostra avventura e lavorare con noi. Inviateci anche le vostre idee e le vostre storie, con le vostre esperienze. Non si sa mai: forse l’inizio della vostra avventura sarà proprio con Dream Cinema Productions, perché possiamo portare il vostro passato e la vostra storia in vita per mostrarla al mondo. Dimitrios kannavos 1. Mr. Michaels, you work both in front of and behind the camera. How would you describe your journey from actor to producer and director?

Mr. Michaels  1. Yes, I worked for many years as an actor, Producer, and director.. As an actor in front of the camera, you have a big responsibility to portray the story of the character, that you are playing in the reality of it. As a director you're responsible for the whole production, the outcome, the perception, and the direction that the project will take

Dimitrios kannavos 2. What inspired you to create Dream Cinema Productions LLC, and what is the main vision behind your company?

Mr. Michaels 2.  What inspired me to create Dream Cinema Productions Film corporation, was that an actor doesn't have the full control and guides where the production is going. But it's a producer and a director, and the owner of Dream Cinema Productions, I get to dictate, the story and the message I want to put out her to the general public. Art, communication are an intra-part of humanity. It's what our soul share with each other on this plane of this earth, so it's very important to me, to create and share art with others.

Dimitrios kannavos 3. Independent filmmaking can be challenging. What have been the biggest obstacles you have faced, and how did you overcome them?

Mr. Michaels 3. Some of the biggest obstacles and filmmaking as an independent film company, it's to find the funding to produce these projects, to maintain the control of distribution, and that the returns are brought back to repay the investors, and allocate the monies to where they're supposed to be directed,. Because sometimes there are some out there, that are trying to take without contributing and that you always have to be aware of. 

Dimitrios kannavos 4. As a creative professional, where do you usually find inspiration for your stories and characters?

Mr. Michaels 4. I find inspiration in real life, situations, experiences, and the ideas and experiences of others. And sometimes from the creative minds, a very talented people.

Dimitrios kannavos 5. You have participated in international events and galas. How important is networking and global collaboration in today’s film industry?

Mr. Michaels 5.  Yes, I have participated in many national, and international Dallas, awards and events. Also red carpets around the world. It is very important to network, communicate, share, and disseminate your art, and your projects to as many people on earth as possible. You can't build one island with only one stone you need many stones, and the creativity of all those stones.

Dimitrios kannavos 6. What qualities do you look for when choosing actors and collaborators for your projects?

 Mr. Michaels 6. In choosing actors, crew, creative people, to collaborate, We always look into the personality and behavior of the individual. To work together in these creative projects that require a lot of money, a lot of time and a lot of commitment, you have to work with people that are grounded, with a good heart, and easy to work with.

Dimitrios kannavos 7. How do you balance artistic expression with the business side of filmmaking?

Mr. Michaels 7. Sometimes the creativeness, and the business coming to some sort of conflict, but we always count to a compromise, and some sort of understanding.

Dimitrios kannavos 8. What advice would you give to young filmmakers and actors who are trying to enter the industry without strong connections?

Mr. Michaels 8. My advice to people is go out and take workshops, do stage place, audition for things like television, films, and go to events to meet people. And never never let anyone stop you from moving your creativity forward, for you are living your life and you have something to share, in this world as a human spirit it is not for anyone else to stop you from anything. 

Dimitrios kannavos 9. Are there any upcoming projects you can share with us that audiences should be excited about?

Mr. Michaels 9. Right now we have a fill out called Night Mistress, that's on Amazon prime, Hulu, and Fawesome. It's an action adventure of a vigilante girl taking out the bad guys, and she becomes a superhero through comic books. We also have movies out there on Netflix, Hulu, and other platforms like, mansion of blood with Gary Busey. Everyday miracles with Gary Cole. Unknowns With major Spaniard stars. Right now we are working on a Web series that will come out on Instagram and YouTube and later move on to HBO Max, called LA mob story. That's being creative and filmed right now, it is the story of 1940s mobsters in New York, but they live in 2026 Los Angeles, California, it's a serial comedy. Keep an eye for this. 

Dimitrios kannavos 10. Finally, what message would you like to send to the Greek and international audience following the Hellenic Los Angeles Network?

Mr. Michaels 10. Go see all the movies that are under Dream Cinema Productions that we mentioned and keep an eye out for the new productions. We might come to your town and film something there, and you would have a chance to be part of our adventure and work with us. Also send us your ideas and your stories, with your experiences. You never know maybe your start to your adventure will be with Dream Cinema Productions as we can bring your past in history to life and for a world to see. And have a chance to share your story with the whole planet as we become one through the art of communication, art, Music, and the experience we can share with one another.
