LO SPECCHIO SILENZIOSO

Camminiamo con maschere di pietra levigata,
in sale affollate, eppure profondamente soli,
raccogliendo verità che temiamo di dire,
dietro un battito trattenuto e docile.

Ma c’è un oro dentro la ruvidità,
una fiamma guida — che possa restare —
che tremola quando l’ego cede
e strappa via i veli pesanti.

È la mano che non si ritrae,
il coraggio nel dire “non sto bene”,
l’arte sincera, tremante e imperfetta
di aprire un cuore rimasto chiuso.

THE QUIET MIRROR 

 

 

​We walk with masks of polished stone,

 

In crowded halls, yet deeply lone,

 

Collecting truths we fear to speak,

 

Behind a pulse, controlled and meek.

 

​But there’s a gold within the grit,

 

A pilot light—long may it sit—

 

That flickers when the ego fails,

 

And strips away the heavy veils.

 

​It is the hand that doesn’t pull away,

 

The courage in the "I’m not okay,"

 

The messy, trembling, honest art

 

Of opening a locked-up heart.
